PELLEGRINI LAUDS COMPLETE TEAM PERFORMANCE AFTER MANCHESTER UNITED VICTORY

A week that saw 11 goals, two wins, one draw and just one goal conceded, West Ham United have thrived at London Stadium over the last seven days. This was emphasised with an impressive 3-1 win over Manchester United on Saturday, a game full of open, attacking football from the hosts.

Marko Arnautovic’s third goal of the season clinched victory, after a first Hammers goal from Felipe Anderson and what is now judged as a Viktor Lindelof own goal, in the first half.

It was a fantastic and complete team performance, as Pellegrini wanted to praise all his players equally for this result.

“I always say if you want to have a good performance you need to play good as a team, there were so many today, Rice, Arnautovic, Noble, Anderson, Yarmolenko scored and full-backs were involved in attacks,” he said.

“I think we played very well as a team, we also had three of four chances in the second half with lots of space so I think this result would’ve happened, we didn’t really feel any near situations in our box.

“We work every day this week, working on opposition, we have good possession today, we move well and defended well as a team.”

The win makes it four games unbeaten now for the Hammers since coming back from the International break. The confidence within the squad has only been going up in recent weeks and with West Ham now up to 14th, the only way is up from here.

“It’s been a very good week, we continued in the exact same way from beating Everton and when the players believe in what we are doing, this is the results,” said Pellegrini.

“We are improving, every game is different I believe so we keep going.”
