The IPCÂ ParaAthletics Championships have been a wonderful spectacle for athletes and fans alike under the floodlights of London Stadium. Ahead of night nine of the competition, we caught up with some spectators who offered their views of the event so far.
Tim, who has travelled down from Derby has been thoroughly impressed by the athletes who have been competing.
“I think all of them have been marvellous, it was impressive to see Richard Whitehead run the 100meters the other day, and to see him get there in the end and get another medal is a great achievement,†he said.
“It’s a stunning venue, we were here for the Paralympics in 2012, and it’s terrific to see what they have been able to do with it."
Edinburgh native Jack, whose wife is a volunteer for the games, shared a similar view of the venue, and the quality of the athletics on show.
“the stadium is sensational, we were here in 2012 and nothing has changed, it takes your breath away when you step inâ€
Sarah from the Midlands, is a huge fan of the games that have been held here.
“It’s brilliant and inspiring, to see disabled people doing so well and to beat world records, I personally find it better than watching able-bodied athletes because they have to overcome so much moreâ€
“Kadeena Cox, was fantastic yesterday, and I hope to see her smash it tonight†Sarah added.
Kadeena Cox looks to make it 2 golds in 2 days after her heroics last night, she is competing in the women’s T38 100m tonight (8.00pm).
