Is there anything Hannah Cockroft can’t do? After dominating previously in the week, she seemed to breeze past the opposition, and picked up her third gold medal of competition, and tenth overall in world championships, fellow Brit Kare Adenegan finished the race in third picking up a bronze medal in the T43 400m.

“It just sounds like a number at the moment, but it was great to do this in front of a home crowd. It’s been a really tough championship; every race I go into I have to put on my best show to bring home the gold” she said.

“There is a lot of pressure on me, people seem to think I’m going to win the gold every time, but there is no guarantee. It’s tough because I want to prove myself, to prove that I am still the best in the world” she added.

After tonight, Cockroft has certainly cemented her place in the history of the stadium, after another heroic performance.

Fellow golden girl Georgina Hermitage, smashed her own world record for the T37 400m, with a time of 1.00.29, in what proved to be an incredible 15-minute spell for Team GB, ensuring two gold medals to add to the collection.

“I was very relieved that it all worked well, after all the injuries and to come out and seal the deal, was way beyond my expectations” she said after the race.

Hermitage now goes into the Saturday 100m heat’s and finals on Saturday but can take a lot of confidence from her performance tonight

“It’s a whole different kettle of fish the 100m, with my injury I’ve lost a little bit of speed, but the confidence I can take will help me on Saturday” she added.

Veteran Stephen Miller, continued to impress with his longevity, after winning a bronze in the F32 Club throw.

After tonight Britain sit third in the medal table behind China and 2 gold medals behind the USA.
