Henry faces anxious wait after journey back to where it all began

Desiree henry, is now looking to qualify from her heat, as one of the fastest losers, as she faces a nervous wait to see if she qualifies for the semi-final of the 100m, which will be contested on day three of the IAAF World Championships.

“Today I was focusing on my start, making sure that executed well. Overall I was happy with the run, but obviously, I’m disappointed not to qualify automatically” she said after the race.”

“I think I’ll have to wait and see and relax. Gather my thoughts and prepare as if I’ll be going to the semi-final” she said in bullish mood, believing that her efforts have made her worthy of a place in the semi’s.

“It’s absolutely amazing. I took a second after the race and when you look and see the British flags it makes you so proud to be British. The fact so many people have come down to support us. Five years on, it’s a dream come true and I’m so glad that I’m here” she added.

After lighting the Olympic torch five years ago, Desiree will hope that she can write her own history in a stadium that witnessed so over the last five years.
