Sinnot centimeters from dream debut

By Sam Tonks

Thousands of kids flocked into London Stadium this morning as more British hopefuls took to the stage to leave their mark on the IPC Para-Athletic World Championships.

Luke Sinnot stepped up to the T42 Long Jump final with the crowd roaring him on. At his first world championships, Sinnot recorded a personal best of 6.15m, just 11cm off of a bronze medal.

Denmarks Daniel Wagner picked up the gold after his silver in last nights T42 100m.

In their heats, both Richard Chiassaro, Nathan McGuire and Samantha Kingthorn progressed to their respective finals.

Chiassaro and McGuire move into tonight's T54 200m final whilst Kingthorn waits for hers later this week.

Elsewhere, Ukraines Dmytro Prudnikov pulled off an extraordinary result in the T20 Long Jump.

In attempts three and four, he set world record distances, the furthest 4.50m to claim a fifth gold for his country in London.

Tonight sees more medal and record breaking opportunities for the home talents as the evening of day five is set to be manic once again.

Sabrina Fortune, Richard Chiassaro and Nathan McGuire represent Britain in upcoming finals.
