Team GB will look to build on a promising day six at the World Para Athletics which saw both, Samantha Kinghorn and Maria Lyle getting their second medals of London, both finishing with bronze medals in the T53 400m and T35 100m respectively.
Hannach Cockroft is on track to complete a hatrick of gold medals on day seven at the World Para Athletic Championships, should she win her T34 400meters (20.25). Fellow team GB members Carly Tait and Kare Adenegan will also compete to get on the medal podium.
Cockroft who has had a remarkable tournament so far, will be in a confident mood to take home another medal, after fairing so well in her previous two races, the T34 800m and the T34 100m.
“I’m feeling pretty confident, the 400m is my favourite event†she said.
It would certainly be a suitable way to earn her hatrick of gold medals, in the stadium where she made a name for herself during the Paralympics in 2012.
During his earlier years, veteran Stephen Miller dominated the F32 club throw winning gold during the 1996, 2000 and 2004 paralympic games. Miller will look to roll back the years infront of a home crowd tonight, as he aims to do better than his bronze in Rio.
Finally, World record holder Georgie Hermitage will try and defend her T37 400m title tonight (20:35). Â
