London Stadium plays host for Usain Bolts final 100m final tonight, in what is sure to be an emotional one for the 17-time gold medallist. Bolt made hard work of his heat last night and was frustrated at his start, saying “I’m not fund of these blocks, I have to get this togetherâ€. Bolt described the feeling as very bad and will surely be in determined mood to right any wrongs he had last night, and put in a dominating performance in tonight’s final at 9:45pm.
This will no doubt be Bolts night, should he win. However, that doesn’t deter from the quality of the fellow athletes on display on night two. Laura Muir who yesterday stated she was trying to preserve her energy and just get the job done, goes again tonight, as she looks to advance to the 1500 final tonight (7:35pm)
The men’s long jump final will be contested tonight at 8:05pm, but it is missing perhaps its biggest star in Craig Rutherford, who had to withdraw with injury.
After Mo Farah’s incredible showing in the men’s 10,000m last night, it is now the turn of women athletes such as Tirunesh Dibaba, Almaz Ayana and British trio Jess Martin, Beth Potter and Charlotte Taylor to write their names in the history books.
